ESG and sustainability legislation

What you have to report, what you're allowed to claim and what it all means for your supply chain.
Leading

Sustainability

In just a few years, sustainability has moved from the marketing department to the statute book. CSRD, CSDDD, the EU Taxonomy, EUDR and the rules on green claims now reach into your annual accounts, your purchasing contracts, your financing and your website.
And the rules keep shifting. What looked settled last year has been pushed back or watered down again by the Omnibus packages.
We turn that pile of regulations into clear actions for you, and, just as importantly, show you what you don’t need to do.
We're a B Corp ourselves, have been climate positive since 2021 and founded CO2alition Nederland. So we face the same audits, data requests and supply chain discussions you do. No need to explain.
Internally, we call it legal as a force for good.

Where we help

CSRD and sustainability reporting
Do you have to report, and if so, from which financial year? We determine the scope of your obligations, guide you through the double materiality assessment and check your reporting against the ESRS. We also support discussions with your auditor about assurance.
CSDDD and responsibility across the chain
Due diligence in your value chain: policy, risk assessment, complaints mechanism and the climate transition plan. Plus the contractual side, because the obligation ends up in your procurement and supplier terms.
EU taxonomy
Which of your activities are taxonomy aligned, and what that means for your turnover, capex and opex figures. Relevant the moment you finance or are financed.
EUDR and deforestation-free chains
Soy, cocoa, coffee, timber, rubber, palm oil, cattle and the products made from them. Due diligence statements, geolocation data and how responsibility is split between operator and trader.
Green claims and greenwashing
What can you say on your packaging, website and in your campaigns? We check claims against the Empowering Consumers Directive, Green Claims rules and the Dutch Advertising Code, and support you if the Dutch competition authority or a competitor challenges them.
ESG in deals and contracts
ESG due diligence on an acquisition, sustainability warranties in the purchase agreement, ESG-linked terms in financing documentation and sustainability clauses in commercial contracts.
Sustainable governance and B Corp
Amending articles of association to put stakeholders at the heart of decisions, embedding impact in governance, and support with B Corp certification or recertification. We scored 116 points ourselves. We know where the points are and what takes time.
Who it's forFor ambitious organisations and entrepreneurs

Who we work with

  • Impact businesses with sustainability at their core
  • Large companies caught by the reporting obligation
  • Mid-sized businesses fielding questions passed down the chain, by a customer or by the bank
  • Investors with ESG commitments in their fund
  • And marketing and communications teams that want to be sure their claim holds up
Approach

How we work

First, we assess which rules apply to you, when they take effect and the minimum you need to put in place. Then we set out a plan in priority order, so you don’t have to tackle everything at once.
We work alongside your auditor, your sustainability adviser and your procurement team. Legal advice that stands apart from the rest of your organisation gets you nowhere here.
We run our own monitoring to keep up with the rules. If something changes in a regulation that affects you, you'll hear it from us before you read it anywhere else.
We charge a fixed fee for most projects and offer an annual agreement for ongoing questions.
