Dozens of hours and about 200 questions later
About 200 questions, dozens of documents and tens of hours were required, but it's a fact: LEAN is on its way to B Corp status.
After completing the so-called B Impact Assessment (BIA), we expect to be able to sign the Declaration of Interdependence this year.
What does being a B Corp entail?
For those who still don't know what B Corps entail, B Corps are the companies of the new generation, because they – in addition to making a profit – primarily want to have a positive impact on the world. Social, but also from a climate-technical perspective.

What is B Corp?
B Corp is a sustainable certification mark that the non-profit organization B LabinB Lab Europehas been spending on companies since 2006. Hereby, the entire business operation is put under the microscope and assessed.
The certificate shows that you as a company contribute to a better world.
To be eligible for certification, you must have a social and ecological mission, which is thoroughly evaluated annually, with a reassessment conducted every two years.
How do you become a B Corp?
To become a B Corp, a company must achieve at least 80 points on the B Impact Assessment, out of a maximum score of 200. Would you be eligible for a B Corp certification? Then you must be able to demonstrate that, in addition to a healthy business operation, you also have people, the environment and society as fundamental principles.
The approval procedure is tough and it is evaluated on five criteria: sustainability, transparency, labor rights, customers, and the local community. Every time the re-evaluation will be more difficult, which means that as a company you must improve every day!

We have also taken the B Corp framework to heart, and we look forward to the review process and hope to be able to sign the Declaration of Interdependence soon!
