The LEAN FlexPool
Alongside the lawyers attached to our firm, we regularly call in carefully selected lawyers and legal advisers who are not (always) permanently attached to us, but who do have the LEAN DNA. These lawyers, legal advisers and consultants form a flexible ring around LEAN LAWYERS: The LEAN FlexPool.
That lets us put the most efficient and suitable set-up in place for our clients at short notice, and keep labour-intensive projects, cover for maternity and (long-term) leave and one-off matters moving smoothly alongside them. With The LEAN FlexPool, high-calibre legal expertise becomes available flexibly, often at keener rates, so our clients feel the benefit straight away.

How it works, formally
Alongside partners (co-owners of the firm) and lawyers attached to LEAN LAWYERS LLP through a contract of employment, a number of lawyers (*) and legal advisers (**) work for our firm as self-employed professionals under a contract for services. Some of them are also attached to another law firm. Together they form The LEAN FlexPool, and they are listed on this page too.
When these lawyers work for clients of LEAN LAWYERS LLP, the contract is between LEAN LAWYERS LLP and the client. LEAN LAWYERS LLP is responsible for the work. If the lawyer or legal adviser makes a professional error, this falls under our firm's professional indemnity insurance. If a client has a complaint about the lawyer or legal adviser who carried out work on behalf of LEAN LAWYERS LLP, they can raise it with our internal complaints officer. LEAN LAWYERS LLP invoices for the work done by the people in our FlexPool, and our firm's terms and conditions apply whenever the instruction has been given to LEAN LAWYERS LLP. That way, it makes no difference to clients which LEAN lawyer or legal adviser acts for them.
